The Headpiece: The Crowning finish to the Bridal Ensemble

by: Jennifer Lena - Lowellsun.com

You've picked out that perfect Dress for your Wedding and you know that all eyes will be on you. The biggest accessory to choose from isn't the jewelry, but the headpiece. If you want to go with tradition, the veil has always been a staple of Wedding Attire. However, if you want to go with something more trendy and chic, a variety of options await.

Some Brides would envision their day as something they've been waiting an eternity for. They picture their husband as thier 'Prince in Shining Armor'. If your Wedding is designed from the outset to be of the 'fairytale' nature, then why not play the part? Be a Princess! If Fairytale is your theme then your best option is a Tiara or a Crown. A Tiara is a smaller version of a Crown, more delicate and dainty. However if your desire for glitz, glamour and attention calls for something with a 'wow factor', a Crown might be your best bet. Where do you find a fitting Crown? A great place to start looking for your Tiara or Crown might be on the many Pagent websites that sell the rhinestone encrusted headpieces.

Another, more unique style is the Cap. A Cap can cover some or all of your head. It's a great idea if you have a short hairstyle that doesn't allow for other attachments. However, you should check with your hairdresser and discuss if your hairstyle and Cap are compatable. You certainly wouldn't want an updo and then have a Cap cover most of it!

A more modern twist is to do something chic and simple. It's also a great way to cut costs while looking 'mod'. Some examples are:

Putting a simple flower tucked into a beautiful updo.

Using ribbons or clips to tie your hair back into a simple ponytail.

Something exotic like a bindi. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors.

A Headchain. If you have a Themed wedding (say Medieval) something like a chainmail headpiece may fit in nicely.

Remember to be creative and try something new and different! While the options are limitless, the ideas are up to you!
