Wedding
Nailcare Guide
As a final touch, it's nice to have a professional
manicure and/or pedicure the day of your wedding. If you have
weak, broken nails, bite your nails, or have another condition
where your nails aren't in tip-top shape; You may want to
consider an alternative.
Many Nail Salons can offer a variety of options
to those who don't have the best nails. A common alternative
to a manicure is having acrylics put on. With Acrylics, a
small piece of plastic-like material that is clear is placed
on top of your real nail. It is held on with a piece of glue
and then 'painted' over with an acrylic mixture. A great option
with Acrylic is the 'Pink & White". This is almost
the same process, but instead of using all white acrylic they
use a pink on the bed of the nail & then a white acrylic
on the tip. The result is a French manicure that won't chip
and will last until your next fill. Two other popular types
of nails are gel and silk. Silk is usually the most expensive,
but the least destructive to the real nail underneath.
Don't forget to bring the appropriate color
nail polish with you for your appointment. You can either
go to the salon or have the manicurist meet you at your home
or dressing site. Consider having him/her give your mother,
your fiancé's mother and your bridesmaids a manicure
in the same color for a consistent look.
Try to negotiate getting a manicure or pedicure
free of charge or at a discount in exchange for bringing your
mother, your fiance's mother and your wedding party to the
salon.
